Welcome

WELCOME TO A PRIMM DESIGN

Thank you for joining me as I begin this journey into the literary world of design blogs!

I am a Tennessee native and Nashville based Interior Designer with over 25 years in the design profession, working in both the commercial and residential fields. Interior Design is not only my profession, it is my passion. Inspired by the color and pattern found in everyday life and a historical appreciation for things old and new, I describe my design style as "Traditional with a Kick!"

I want to share it all with you!

About Me

Amy Primm ( A PRIMM DESIGN)  is a Tennessee native and Nashville based Interior Designer who has worked in the design profession for over 25 years.  Her work, in both the commercial and residential fields,
reflects not only her passion for art and architecture, but also her 4C philosophy:  FUN-ctional spaces require elements that are Colorful, Comfortable, Cost-Effective and Creative. Inspired by her love for color and pattern found in the everyday, she tailors her design work to meet her clients' needs, whether it is in the office or at home.

As A PRIMM DESIGN's solo interior designer, Amy credits her ability to connect with her clients on a personal level as the foundation for creating interiors with timeless appeal. Her knowledge of all aspects of design and her historical appreciation for things old and new help define her style, which she refers to as
"Traditional with a Kick!". She relies on her attention to detail, well-honed skills and a talented team of craftsmen and vendors to help execute her designs on time and in budget.

Amy earned a  unique combination of degrees with the intention of writing for a design publication: a B.A. in English with a minor in Journalism from the University of Alabama and an Associates Degree in Interior Design from O'More College of Design. (Who could have predicted that the design publication would be her own some 30 years later in the form of a blog!) She is a licensed Interior Designer with NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualifications)certification, LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) and a member of the Nashville USGBC (United States Green Building Council).  Her portfolio includes completed projects across the South for multiple Manufacturer Showroom locations, numerous Medical and Governmental Facilities;various Office and Assembly spaces, Vacation/Rental Homes, Residences and Condominiums.
